What is their mission?

The Véro & Louis Foundation is working diligently to create permanent and adapted living environments for autistic adults over 21. It offers an educational environment to the residents and is stimulating in order to accompany them in their potential and autonomy.

What is autism?

Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a neurodevelopmental disorder. According to the Quebec Autism Federation, it manifests in early childhood but sometimes appears in a more obvious way when entering school. There are as many forms of autism as there are people living with it. So it manifests differently in different people.

As the Véro & Louis Foundation explains, autism is for life. All children living with autism spectrum disorder become adults and are unfortunately often forgotten. Indeed, adapted supports cease after 21 years old. After that, autistic adults are no longer a priority. They have to wait several years because of the long waiting lists before they can receive full-time support.

How did Trovac help?

After five years of work, the first house opened its door in June 2021 in Varennes, Quebec. Two powerful central vacuums were donated to the foundation in December 2019, as well as 8 kits of our Retraflex hoses were installed to facilitate the household tasks of team members!
